PARTNERSHIP IMPACTS LAWRENCE COUNTY
A partnership of the South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance and Martin Methodist College will impact Lawrence and surrounding counties with a $970,000 grant through the Governor's 2014 Labor and Education Alignment Program (LEAP).

The proposal "Closing Gaps Through Partnerships," covers a seven-county area in southern middle Tennessee and is focused on filling the workforce pipeline in Production (Manufacturing) pathways starting with the high schools.  The proposal estimates that, through a variety of initiatives, the program will give hands-on-education and training in targeted technologies to almost 4000 high school students over a course of two years.

"The LEAP proposal was a perfect fit with MMC's long range plan, said Dr. Ted Brown, president of MMC.  Playing a key role in this proposal couldn't have come at a better time or in a more appropriate fashion for Martin Methodist."

Private employers involved in the proposal includes Nissan, Magneti Marelli, Modine Manufacturing, Lincoln Brass and 4MAC Machining.
Members welcome Dr. James Manuele and staff with Manuele and Associates OBGYN to 237 East Gaines Street, Suite A in Lawrenceburg. Call 766-1800 for an appointment.
