GATTIS LEADERSHIP VISITS LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Lawrence County Chamber welcomed Gattis Leadership for a two-day visit that included a community tour of historical and interesting places, and presentations from local government and economic development.

The group made a visit to Modine Manufacturing who is a partner with the current Gattis class in a $970,000 LEAP grant, where Certified Production Technician curriculum will be implemented into the Career & Technology Education programs that will impact middle and high school students.  The goal is to increase the youth's knowledge of careers in Advanced Manufacturing.

" Gattis is a wonderful opportunity to learn about our regional counties and build relationships with other community leaders. I encourage any Leadership Lawrence graduate to consider applying for the program," says Beth Keaton Chamber Director and Gattis Board Member.  Gattis Leadership is a regional program that includes thirteen counties in southern middle Tennessee. Class applications are available  at www.gattisleadership.com. You may also call Beth for more information 762-4911.

Pictured from Modine Manufacturing is Mark Jent, Matt Shelton, and David Killen. Class members represent Wayne, Lewis, Giles, Lincoln, Bedford, Marshall, Moore, Franklin, and Coffee counties.  Lawrence County participants are Tasha Beckman with One Stop Medical, April Judkins Director of Lawrenceburg Main Street, and Vic Pusser, Manager  Lawrenceburg Utility Systems.
